This appointment is one of the dumbest Bush has made. They are talking about reform of the CIA and then appoint as head of the CIA an old CIA hand? They appoint him regardless of the fact that one of the recent criticisms of the CIA it that is bends too often to pressure from the White House, so Bush appoints a sitting Republican member of the House? If you needed any more proof that Bush is astonishingly stupid, this appointment is it. As a result of that fact, obvious to everyone already, you will see this nomination go nowhere fast. It will pass at the committee level and then Frist will delay bringing it to a floor vote because too many Republicans, let alone Democrats, will oppose it. It will languish till after the election. If Kerry wins, Goss will never head the CIA. And that would be good, very good. If you want CIA reform, keep Goss out the CIA. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
