On 22 Aug 04 13:56:57, Ward Dossche got back to Danny Ceppa -> Re: A Day in a parents life > Which is a shame. I can't remember the last time I saw a corner > bakery or butcher shop. WD> WD> 15 years ago we had three grocery-stores open on Sundays within a few WD> minutes walking-distance. Now there's none. There used to be 3 WD> butcher-shops on the church-square ... all are gone. 2 baker-shops WD> remain and only one bakes himself. All the rest has moved to WD> supermarkets with 2 days old bread. Nothing like old bread... It's only good when it's still steaming! I remember polishing off a loaf of raisin bread and at least a pound of fresh baked ham one Easter. With horseradish, of course. :) ... If we had some ham, we'd have ham & eggs, if we had some eggs. --- OMX/Blue Wave/DOS v2.30* Origin: Soundly on the Fault Line (1:123/666.0) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/666 500 106/2000 633/267 |
