Gene I certainly hope the Democrats take your position on this.  They have
been desperately trying to get some high ground on the 9/11 commission
report, it was just a month ago they were bitching that Bush didn't appoint
someone immediately, and by being obstructionist on this the democrats will
lose all credibility regardubg there recent news conferences calling for
swift congressional action on 9/11 report.

I suspect for the reasons above, there may be some purely partisan
growning, but Goss' nomination sails through before the election.
