Hi Robin,

Sounds like he and I would get along quite well. My FIL is quiet but
has a very dry sense of humor.

"To Be the Best" is part of a trilogy with the first 2 I mentioned,
don't remember the sequence of 2 & 3 but AWOS is first. Her older books
are better than the newer ones, IMO, but I did enjoy TWIHL--partly
because it dealt (in some parts) with Berlin & places I knew there.
RP> Right. If the opportunity ever comes, I'd be very happy to

Sounds like right now you are where you are supposed to be for now.
Something will show up, in the right timing, for you to go back to
school if you are meant to. In the meantime, enjoy this time & do all
the stitching/crafting you can.

Having dealt with so many different school systems in our travels, I
know of a few that I wish could have educated the girls K-12, others I'm
not sorry to have left. You make the best of what you have, suppliment
if need be (computer, library, newspapers, etc) and pray that he makes
the best of his education. The high school here is good in that it has
so many classes but bad in that it is so large and most teachers don't
really know their students. But, Deborah will graduate from it, rather
than moving again in her school career and she will have enough other
activities outside of school to round her out. Don't feel bad if you
feel you did your best and you think it's not enough. If you did your
best with what is available, then it's what is meant to be for now. I
went to a small school (63 in the graduating class, a school record) and
feel I got a decent education for what I do; my one sister feels the
same school did a poor job of preparing her for her job. The school is
as good as parents and teachers, working together, make it. (off my
soapbox)

Glad to be of help. The folks I've met electronically have been a big
support this past year, especially those, like you, who have dealt with
the same situation.

RP> It would be safer to care about trees or rocks, but much less
 RP> fulfilling.
True. People need the support of others in life. As John Donne put it,
"No man is an island." By ministering to others, we are blessed, both
in doing so and in seeing thhe others reach out, in turn, to still
others, who need their ministry. Keep on careing; the world needs all
the care givers it can get.

RP> No worries! :) You've got enough to do without hunting for books
RP> right now. I hope your reunion is proceeding smoothly and happily! I
RP> remember, with John, Arthur and me, that we had some adjustments to
RP> make on our return to living together. If that's true for you, too,
 RP> just hang in there.
Things are going fairly well. Steve got back as my hard drive was
dying, so he replaced it. He's also putting some work into the girl's
car, to keep it running while we look for a better one. Once things
settle down a bit more, I'll look for the books. With Rachel moving out
in a few months, her room will get a good cleaning out and maybe I'll
find them there. Hopefully I'll be able to move my some of my sewing
into that room; it would let me spread out without having to do it all
over the house.
RP> Life doesn't come with a "good parts version." But, the long
RP> partnerships are worth a bit of trouble. :)
Too long for a tag line but a great thought. We took each other for
better or worse; the worse parts make the better ones so much more so.
Catch you later,
Ruth
