Hello CAROL!

Replying to a message of CAROL SHENKENBERGER to SHAWN HIGHFIELD:

CS> Thanks! I'm so deep into SBBS now though, I'm thinking more on it.
CS> Biggest problem just now is netmail. I seem to be getting it (not
CS> really sure) but cant get at it. It seems I cant just use ARGUS as
CS> it has no way to read netmail (or if it does, it's well hidden).

Synchronet will import the netmail into it's own base for you. When I ran
sync I needed nothing else except for BinkD or Irex. (I use Irex as well)

The netmail should all be either a) Fowarded to your email address or b)
available on your BBS as private mail.

CS> What I was used to was a simple Telegard with FD, using IREX for my
CS> 'dial on demand' BinkP sessions.

This is kind of why I came back to Maximus from Sync... Not that Sync didn't
work as it did, I just was so used to doing things "my way" that
I found I was
ignoring the BBS and leaving it on auto pilot with Sync as it didn't need any
attention. ;)

CS> What else does Binkley style attaches? They are working neatly with
CS> IREX now and i'd rather not backtrack to FD. I gues I can see if
CS> Tarus has netmail inbuilt? That would fix me up if so.

Just toss your netmail to any base you want ie: *.MSG and use Golded or Msged
or something as your editor. You need to escape the frontdoor mindset where your
editor is built into your mailer.

ie: I'm running Irex, (and in the past Binkleyterm) and my etmail is
currently "tossed"
into a *.MSG area that I read with FleetStreet.
