BG> (and hundreds of V.32bis callers) who connect with no problems whatsoever,
RS> Yeah, yeah, heard this line before Bill. YOU claimed that the handshaking
RS> problem you saw when calling a Spirit had never ever been seen with
RS> anything but a Spirit.
BG> Which was quite true. But at V.32bis speeds only, not V.34.
Hardly surprising when that was all the Spirit was capable of.
The fact remains, it's exactly the same symptom, failing to
negotiate EC after getting a successful connect.
BG> It apparently only bites with YOUR old Supra modem.
RS> Crap, Maestros have problem calling Thunders too.
BG> Try "one maestro" (singular). That was Dieter's, wasn't it?
Really stuffed up there, Bill. I personally didn't actually see
the problem with a Maestro, I had disabled it because of the
Supra beforehand. It is others such as Maestro technical support,
and Dave Hatch, who were spreading the news about the Maestro
failed connects to the Thunder. I saw messages from others too.
I never saw anyone disputing that the problem existed.
RS> Hardly very surprising that USR ensured that there was no visible glitch
RS> when the V32terbo capable Couriers were called by Sportsters Bill.
BG> Nor any other DOCUMENTED V.32ter retrain problems with anything other than
BG> YOUR Supra, and until such time as you can provide evidence to the
BG> contrary, you'll forgive me if I continue to attribute the blame to your
BG> Supra.
And you'll forgive us if we say we've seen it all before from the
likes of you, sprouting any old rubbish that suits you, when
reality is you really need to sit down with a datascope trace and
both the V32terbo and V32bis specs and seeing who, if anyone, is
violating protocol. Until then, there is an unresolved problem.
BFN. Paul.
