actually, virus source code is meaningless to av people... the source
code shows what the virus writer wanted to make, the actual executable
or a good disassembly of the executable will show what the assembler
actually created...
and as far as what you learn from running a supposedly virus infected
file - it is the second step in determining if it really is a virus...
... wash, rinse, repeat...
