That's kind of what I was implying. Most virii expect to be on FAT, and so
expect certain things to be incertain places. Under HPFS, they aren't (which
can lead to different problems too).
SL>A HPFS disk is fragmented permanently, that is how it prevents file

GM> Hello?
Disk Fragmentation: Spaces between files
File Fragmentation: Spaces between parts of files
HPFS is permanently DISK FRAGMENTED, to avoid FILE fragmentation.
JB> Where do you see more cross-linked files?
SL>I haven't had one of those since my 286 days. It came with a stuffed

I take that back actually. I copied about 300 meg of old message files
(JAM format, 4 per area, about 400 areas) to a DOS machine running LANtastic.
A week later, one cross linked file. Weird. Never happened to me under Win.
Maybe it was lantastic.
SL>File systems aren't stable. The software that uses it is.
GM> OK. Which software is more stable?
Are we comparing apples and oranges again?
