Oooooh, that one hurt, I bet! It never ceases to amaze me what people
will do sometimes to "get even". Years back a friend got gypped in a
cross-country purchase of a Duevenbodes lory, sight unseen. She got
charged $300 extra for major vet testing that somehow never got done,
and the bird arrived sick with several infections, candida AND giardia.
She was going to take out ads in Bird Talk to "get even" with the
breeder. But fortunately her checkbook balance talked some sense into
her first...
IMHO, when someone buys a bird or birds sight unseen, and has them
shipped from another place, "Caveat Emptor", or "let the buyer beware"
applies more than at any other time. It still bugs me though, when
someone gets ripped off after they've made a deal in good faith.

Even so, Psit. *is* treatable--no drug *I* know of will turn a female
bird into a male... (But I *have* heard that yellow-collar hens are
harder to come by, so maybe cd will be able to profit from this in the
end by trading or selling one to someone who's desperate for a hen!)
