Many moons ago I realized that what you say can be a problem. My solution
was to create and use a separate directory for the passthru areas. This way,
they're never touched by anything other than Squish itself. (Also keeps the
message base directory from being cluttered up with passthru dupe files.)
But... I have to ask, why not just use Max 3's MAREA? If I were going to go
that route, I'd use SQPACK(p) D:\Max\Marea. Or is there a bug in SqPack that
I'm not aware of?
