GS>give me $18 for Ronnie Montrose's latest.
I still have to cop the old Montrose album on CD. Haven't listened to
the whole thing since '73 or so, so it'll be "new".
GS> Don't know when MY CD or tape will be released, though.
You could burn a CD yourself. If I had some money, I could be making my
own fave tunes discs right now.
Hardware part: I was talking to the guy whose Pro Reverb Scott the amp
guy was working on last weekend. The subject came up again of how similar
the Vibrolux Reverb and Pro Reverb are (I first noticed it in the Weber
book). The V.R. has 10" speakers, but I don't know much else that's
different (I'd have to go look--maybe they used different rectifier
tubes). Anyway, Scott the amp guy was saying you can just take an RCA
cable and bypass the Reverb tank and get nice output distortion from the
presence of that "extra gain stage". Is this that easy?
I did my occasional deal here of just throwing a question in with a
message to somebody. If amps aren't a forte of yours, maybe someone else
will holler out.
And I'll fire off the tape within a few days. Happy Toikey Day.
