I am referring to complaints about the modem's performance. You must be seeing something I'm not. I have been reading that conference daily for months. "Queries" are not complaints. Most queries are just that. People trying to operate the Courier in the Phillipines, Hong Kong, Singapore, France etc and asking about dial tone recognition and the like. Spiral Death syndrome "was" more a Sportster complaint. This seems to have been fixed with the later Roms since about March last year. There haven't been suggestions of SDL with the Courier since at least March last year. db> Even two from guys in Asia who are using US/Canada domestic USRs, who db> wanted to talk to USR support and were told to sod off since USR db> didn't support domestic modems outside the U.S. or Canada. Then Get real! That's not a complaint about the modems operation or performance. It was explained that USR can't support unapproved modems as it is against the law in the Country of operation. db> there's the complaints from Australians about how even the New Zealand db> ROMs are being updated more frequently than the Australian ROMs. Is that a complaint about the modem's operation? Most modems don't have flash roms to "complain" about. db> Of course, there are many users complaining about other modems there, db> too. I note that here you use the word "complaining" as distinct from the "queries" that you used when referring to the Courier? :-) Cheers Rob ---* Origin: Melbourne PC User Group +61-3-9699-6788 (3:632/309) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 620/243 621/525 623/630 624/300 632/0 107 304 309 315 318 SEEN-BY: 632/325 326 329 348 359 366 367 371 393 454 501 506 514 516 525 530 SEEN-BY: 632/535 552 998 999 1000 633/371 634/384 388 635/301 402 502 503 541 SEEN-BY: 635/544 637/103 639/252 670/301 711/401 409 410 413 430 510 808 809 SEEN-BY: 711/899 932 934 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 632/309 998 635/503 50/99 711/808 809 934 |
