subject: NEW 01/12/95 Code (For Aussie Couri

Hi Pete,

[Thus spake Peter Collis unto Sunny Leung:]

SL> BTW, what are those damned beep beep tones (you know, like the
SL> sounds trucks make when they reverse) that are emitted by the
SL> Courier when it makes a connect? The 18/7/95 code never made
SL> these beeping noises while the 5/7/95 code did.

PC> I think the're the v.8 CI tones, the 18/07/95 code had them but they
PC> were a pleasant warbling tone.

Yep, I was told that the reversing-truck noises were v.8 CI tones. I had
never heard of v.8 until recently. Do you turn the v.8 tones off or do
you stick with listening to them when your USR is making a connect?

Anyway, you may have read one of my other messages by now, but there's
quite a lot of Courier development in the US e.g. a new SDL. Sometimes
you wish USR or the Aussie distributor did a bit more for us Austel
Courier owners.

SL> ... Send lawyers, guns, and money. The shit has hit the fan.

PC> hmm, not a Warren Zevon fan are you Sunny.

Who's Warren Zevon? I nicked the tagline, you see :-)

Sunny
