For anyone who didn't catch the details:

Telstra now recommend the[ir] 0011 prefix for modem calls and have
recommended *against* using the 0015 fax prefix for modem calls.

Telstra recently upgraded their stand-alone Coherent and in-built S12 echo
cancellers to be G.165 compliant.

Some Telstra staff have been wondering about the G.165 compliance of their
equipment for a few years at least, but the problems were only identified
and fixed late in 1995 and early in 1996.

So much for the blanket claim by the then AOTC to be supporting then CCITT
Recommendations in their network... /-:
