While listening to Sunny Leung Pete heard:USRMaestro connects

G'day Sunny

PC> Don't know much about Maestros apart from the earlier V.FC's had
PC> a few problems though what maker didn't.

SL> That's probably true, although from a user's (dunno about
SL> sysop's) perspective the Microcom v.FCs were pretty good.

I can only go on what i've read in here at the time, apart from a few
DOA's and bad Austel ver flash code early on they ended up being one
of the better V.FC modems available.

SL> What I'm wondering is whether Netcomm v.34 modems do split
SL> speeds. I can't remember the last time I got an asymmetic speed
 SL> connection with one.

PC> Iv'e never seen a asymmetric connect to a M34F so maybe Netcomm
 PC> don't support it.

 SL> I don't think I've ever had a split-speed connect with a M34F.
SL> It would be good to have less 26.4k M34F-USR connects people
SL> (incl. me) have complained about and more 28.8/26.4 or 26.4/28.8
 SL> connects.

Bill has commented that they do indeed have split speed capabilitys,
maybe this has only been active in the later FlashROM code.
