Why the h*ll don't you build for the expected weather conditions? I'm
surprised the insurance companies don't throw a hissy fit. For example,
outside my door right now the wind is gusting to 180 km/hr (110 mph). It's
been doing so for the last 12 hours and is forecast to continue for another
12. There's been only minor damage so far and it's business as usual
although with some disruption to commuter trains, airport and interisland
ferries. The point is that this is normal, expected weather for this time
of year and our building codes reflect this.
