| subject: | NETCOMM ROADSTER 288 |
Hi there Terry, TC-> Oh really? I always thought that they were just Netcomm's in a TC-> diffrent case. Previously they were. But because NetComm couldn't get enough Rockwell chipsets for their own products, they decided to keep most of the chips for themselves and badge the Motorola product...... notice how their advertising doesn't say Australian made anymore? Just take a look at the modems, they are identical TC-> Motorola modems aren't the best of modems as well, by that I mean how TC-> it can ct to v34 but not Vfc. Thats right. Motorola chips don't have anythign to do with V.FC. As for the modems themselves, the Motorola products don't connect too well to Rockwell V.34 products on very bad phone lines, but seem to connect quite well to each other on the same quality lines..... interesting TC-> Also, with the Roadsters, I have read (from the various echos) and TC-> heard that they are a bit of problem. But luckily, I have the M34F (pre roadster) TC-> which TC-> is a good modem. Yeah, I've also seen a lot of strange problems with the Roadster product. Especially the very first batches....... oh well, suppose they will resolve it sometime Nick ...
