I was working on it but got distracted with other things.  There are perl
modules available for email and could be used as a filter to convert back
and forth to MSG format, especially if a perl module were developed to
handle FTN formats.  I believe that would be the ideal situation.

The existing perl modules that I found interesting are Mail-MboxParser-0.38.tar.gz,
Mail-POPRelay-2.1.1.tar.gz, MailTools-1.58.tar.gz and
Mail-POP3Client-2.14.tar.gz, which are available for download on any CPAN
site.
