Trailer homes are unknown here. Actually, light timber frame construction
is sufficient for hurricane resistance if properly specified. It's the main
construction technique here, but we also have earthquakes to contend with
which makes light timber frame cheaper than slab / concrete block. I've
seen a few episodes of "This Old House", which show that
construction techniques are quite different between the US and here.
