| subject: | USR Courier V34 problem |
PE>PE> They're NOT running them at mismatched baud rates. THAT's what PE>PM> No doubt your dumb terminal PE>I'm not "ignoring" it at all. I'm choosing to not switch on "Variable PE>Speed". Well perhaps you should >chose< a locked baud and be done with it! PE>Why are you introducing this red herring? My concern is about NORMAL PE>locked comm port with AUTOBAUD. E.g. I can pick up my Netcomm M34F, PE>and take it to ANY of 70 different WYSE terminals, type in "ATZ", and PE>they will all autobaud on whatever the WYSE terminal is set up for, PE>and WORK. Straight out of the box! BFN. Paul. Well I won't try and guess what you really want to use your modem for, but if you regularly use your modem on some large number of dumb terminals of differing DTE rates, then perhaps the USR is not the right choice for you. (but I would imagine ANY high speed modem would be wasted on a dumb terminal anyway!)
