      I realized that.  I live in Western Canada, about 300 miles straight
north of the point where North Dakota and Montana border on Canada.  Maybe 
1000-1200 miles due north of Denver.

      This is a bbs setting, not your video card setting, a big difference.

      A simple solution would be to avoid a WC bbs system, however maybe 
heck
out the emulations that the WC is offering you  and see if it's anything 
other than ANSI-BBS or VT100/102.
