Look at how many places in the former empire were left as & are now
democracies. Some fell into mil dictatorship (e.g. Burma, Pakistan) &
some fell into Party dictatorship (most of Africa if only for a time e.g.
Uganda, Kenya)).
Heck the only bit of Somalia doing OK is the former British Somali-land.
The problem was Iraq was never viewed as the colonial venture that it was.
At least now it might be.
