Nope, it's ONLY when you attempt to use com4 that there's a conflict
with the ATI, at least as far as I recall. However, I did have an ATI VLB 32
bit car that would cause the system to hang if you tried to access the
floppy, and an ATI VLB 64 that took over 60 seconds to load a picture in
VPIC, so I've learned to stay well clear of ATI's. Personally, I prefer
Diamond Stealth 3200's or a Matrox Millenium, but they're top end cards. :)

Well, I'm no expert at debugging ATI related problems, but I'd suggest
asking the shop to test things with an ATI 64, or that you ask them to loan
you a non-ATI card so you can try it out.
