Thanks above information. This year I had in my garden a very good result 
with my onions, there were plenty of real thick ones, so that I'm afraid I 
can't finish them before next growing season.  So I will do like you and dry 
them in the microwave.
For most of the veggies I prefer canning above freezing.  I'm cannning leak, 
carrots, beans, celery, sprouts, tomatosauce. Further I cann also fruit and 
apple-compote. Only veggies like spinach, brocoli and cabages (white, green, 
and curled cabbage) go into the freezer.
