Nah, traffic in there isn't terribly high at the best of times, and
sometimes I run out of things to post...

Then again, sometimes I hear about things and don't get around to it.
Like take for example the recent nonsense that's been going on about
telemarketers (and yes, I got my call today, and one yesterday, and...).

First the feds set up this do-not-call list (we have one here in PA, too,
and the state has been fairly agressive about enforcing it). Then the
court says they can't do that. That the FTC (?) overstepped their
authority to enact such a thing, though this court thing coming right
before it's supposed to go into effect is awfully funny. Then the
congress, both houses, passes a bill to specifically _give_ them the
authority to do this thing...

Here's where it gets good.

Then we have _another_ court that says, hey, they can't pass a law that
says that telemarketers shouldn't call people that don't wanna deal with
them -- that might interfere with their "free speech"! Free
speech comin' outta my butt!

I'll be DAMNED if somebody who thinks they _need_ to try and sell me
something has the "right" to come in my door, and force
themselves on my attention, so that I'm _forced_ to deal with their sales
pitches, just so they can make a living! But these guys are saying that
they have such a "right" to do so over the phone?!

Bad enough I get at least a call a day, sometimes more, from idiots that
don't understand when a line has a modem connected to it!

Nice to see you back in here, anyway, I guess things are progressing with
the bbs software at your end and such, from what I can see...
