"In a move unprecedented by any Israeli leader, Prime Minister Ehud
Olmert on Monday included Israel in a list of nuclear nations.

In an interview with the German television network SAT 1, Olmert was asked
about the statement by newly-appointed US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates
regarding Israel's nuclear capability.

The prime minister became enraged when he was asked if the fact that Israel
possessed nuclear power weakened the West's position against Iran.

"Israel is a democracy and does not threaten anyone," Olmert
exclaimed. The only thing we have tried to do is to live without [threats
of] terror, but we have never threatened anyone with annihilation. Iran
explicitly, openly and publicly threatens to wipe Israel off the map."

"Can you say that this is the same level, when [Iran] is aspiring to
have nuclear weapons, like America, France, Israel and Russia [JPost
italics]?" he said, adding that these were "cultured
nations" who did not threaten the world's foundations with nuclear
destruction.

"

So there you have it. A nuclear theo-ethnic rogue state. Tut tut. Pakistan
is still under sanctions & I beleive there is some US law which
prevents helping non-NPT non-"official" nuclear states.

Blows apart Clinton's signing of the Arrow development plan.

Meanwhile the GCC are responding to both Iran & Israel....

"RIYADH: Gulf Arab states said yesterday they planned to seek nuclear
energy technology for peaceful purposes and repeated their demand to turn
the Middle East, including the Gulf, into a zone free of weapons of mass
destruction.

The six Gulf Co-operation Council leaders, ending a two-day summit in
Riyadh, said in a statement that "the states of the (Gulf) region have
a right to possess nuclear energy technology for peaceful purposes ...
within the context of the pertinent international agreements."

They ordered that a "GCC-wide study be conducted to formulate a joint
programme in the field of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, in
keeping with international standards and regulations," the statement
said.

"

Gee everyone wants to be able to enrich all of a sudden.
