They were mothballed for a while, but not in RAF service.

Planespotter hat on:

They returned from deployment in Afghanistan just five weeks before being
demobbed in July. The RAF gave them a fitting sendoff, with flypasts and
displays all over the country. Sqn Ldr Terry Cairns flew the last official
display flight. He was 61, and was retiring along with the aircraft - it
was his last service flight. All three of them (XH131, XH134 and XH135)
were sold to civilian owners and stored at Kemble for a few months while
the CAA paperwork was processed and civilian avionics fitted. XH134 is now
G-OMHD. XH169, which was retired some time ago, will become the gatekeeper
at RAF Marham, the home airfield of 39 (1 PRU) Squadron, which was
disbanded when its aircraft were demobbed.

55 years in active RAF service for the type, and 47/48 years for the three
aircraft described above.

Planespotter hat off.
