From: "Bob May" To: "atmlist" Reply-To: "Bob May" Russell, that is a minor overkill for the need. Even despite that, I'd use that mask if presented to me. It will seal a lot better than the typical porus paper mask used for most dust conditions and the percentage of glass getting in will be essentially 0 - the mask is more for vapor control and thus the filtering will be better than with the single layer of the cheap paper nose and mouth mask. Do try to do the work outside where the wind will blow the dust away if possible and always use water as much as possible so that when the dust does fly, it will quickly hit the water and thus get entrapped and become immobile. If you have to wash the dust somewhere, wash it into good loam type soil so that it quickly becomes interdispersed with the soil and is captured by all of the stuff in that soil. Washing the dust onto concrete or a clay soil tends to keep it mobile more than into a good soil.
