If you're still running the Netcomm, you'll probably get better performance
at 38400.  They've always had trouble with higher speeds.  (It may now be
fixed - we may also get high altitude bombing runs from herds of
Poland-China hogs..)

Matter of fact, this may suffice to clear your errors.  Never mind that it
takes a percent or two off the rate - the average throughput is better
without the retries.
