It was around 1941 that the law was passed that records be kept by the
commissionr's office for the purpose of non identifying information. Until
then, any records kept are now in the State Library... I heard in boxes and
the State won't comply with any requests. It is a lousy situation as there
are records for the most part on everyone. Now with a 1941 situation, it
may be that there is an avenue to try depending on what you are looking for.
Many times the petition will tell it all.. and thus a possible paper trace.
