A regular 15' dish can be used as well as a standard satellite receiver IF
the frequency can be selected and not just the channel number. Reason being
some satellites use half transponder and odd frequencies for downlink.
You will also need to get an adapter for your feed to recieve circularly
polarized signals. Some of the international satellites use circular instead
of linear (Horz/Vert) polarization. You can use a regular tv to view the
international feeds....there are NTSC feeds there and PAL can be viewed
but the picture will be in b&w and stretched some from top to bottom.
I haven't noticed that many SECAM signals on the satellites we can see here
but then the only two dishes we have that will go from horiz to horiz - one
is a 7 meter transmit and recieve KU only and the other is 'fixed' 11 meter
aimed at Intelsat 601.
... What do you mean? You actually read this tagline?!?
