I hang the swing in the cage and at first, I usually tie it so it
doesn't swing easily (it moves, but not far). Then I loosen it as the
babies gain confidence. It is always the highest thing in the cage,
right from the beginning. I've never seen a baby get up there before
they are ready.

I tend to only use the stuffed animals with single babies too. With
siblings, they don't need a toy--they have each other to cuddle.
I'm experimenting with the latest jenday baby. His parents have taken to
feeding him when THEY want to; not when HE wants to. So if I find him
empty, *I* feed him, and then put him back in the nest. I fed him
breakfast about 8am today. As I write this (2pm), I'm hearing feeding
noises coming from the box. I hope they'll start to feed him regularly
again; it would make working and handfeeding a lot less stressful.
But if worst comes to worst, I suppose I can always do the "run home at
lunch" routine for the next 5 weeks.
