| subject: | Re: Heat and humidity |
Hi Vicki, Was just reading your message to Debby and I just had to comment: VN>DT> I can usually take the heat if the humidity is low. I've VN>DT> overdone it and gotten sick twice in the last couple of VN>DT> weeks. I bought some of those scarves that you soak in VN>DT> water and they swell up and keep you cool, and really like VN>DT> them especially if they spend a couple of hours in the VN>DT> refrigerator before I go out. VN> Buy some Gatorade or bottled water. FREEZE it. Take it with you; you' VN>have lots of cold liquids, and it'll cool you off. I didn't realize it was just as hot for you as it is here for us. Hats off to you both for working those horses out in the heat, I know I can stand the heat but with the humidity factor that's just way too much. I help my boyfriend and his Mom with the goats at some of these county fairs this time of year and I'll keep in mind your helpful ideas. VN> What a coincidence! My Chevy pickup just rolled over 223,000 miles VN>today. I noticed it as the oil is due to be changed in 300 miles. But the VN>compressor on the A/C locked up a few weeks ago, and that's the SECOND one i VN>26 years. So I am in the process of tearing it off and getting a whole ew VN>conditioner. I refuse to drive anything next summer with no A/C - well, exce VN>the CJ with the bikini top. Got another coincidence for you, I too am a Chevy pickup owner, but I don't have quite the amount of mileage you have, not even close. You should enter your truck in the 100,000 mile club(Just kidding). But I have say that I am grateful for my truck it has really been a lifesaver for me, I've been thru the floods here in Sacramento County, CA and an auto accident-semi T-bone/semi head on(would have been head on if I hadn't turned the wheel so hard trying to avoid him-I had the right of way and I couldn't see him until too late because a city of Roseville utility truck blocked my view) and I also had a blowout on the freeway without flipping over. My truck is an S-10 pickup/extended cab. Just had to add a comment or two to your note. Becareful in the heat, Both you and your animals.
