subject: Latest SDL for US Courier :(

SA> I am having NO LUCK at all in getting the 01/23 US SDL to
 SA> work on a Aussie
SA> Courier. I can get it to load but the modem is useless with
 SA> the code in it.

Are you terribly surprised that USR, hearing people openly boasting about
cracking their software, might have taken some preventative measures to
protect their work (and quite possibly, their Austel approval status)?

SA> Anyway, We may have to wait untill another version of the SDL comes out
SA> (Later US version or some another Country)...

SA> Has anyone with US Couriers found the new SDL any good?..
 SA> Better connects?

What's really wrong with the version adapted for Australian conditions?
Are the connects no good? Everyone's been saying how good they are .. but
I'm not about to purchase a modem that requires illegal hacking to work
properly ..

Ian
