Whilst at a peace talk about www speed, President Hamish Moffatt said to

Add to that the fact that TIS have a 10 Mbit link to the US to run the
entire country.  We need at least a 46 Mbit link.  TIS have a financial
interest in the Microsoft Net (On Australia) and would like people to jump
onto that.  Third, they can't be too keen on the idea that the Internet
allows voice conferencing (if you have a good connection) so you could
converse with someone on the other side of the world for the cost of a
local call.  Defeats STD and ISD hands down.  Probably better line quality
as well.

There are a few ISPs with 256k links, you just need to look for them.

What I want is a 500 MHz sattelite link to the US, Europe and other major
centres.  No hope for that, I guess.  Several Gbit!
