Right. I was using huskymak.cfg from the msged/debian/ directory. I
thought that would make sense since I'm using Ubuntu. I see now that among
other things, they've since changed it from OBJ to _OBJ:
22:45 fidonet{at}prime [~/src]diff -u msged/debian/huskymak.cfg
huskybse/huskymak.cfg | grep OBJ
-OBJ=.o
+_OBJ=.o
