MA> I wouldn't go that far David. Clinton is a formiable political
MA>opponent and despite being a man without any apparent concept of the
MA>meaning of personal honor and responsibility, is the consumate
MA>politician. His total absence of ethics makes him the ideal candidate.
MA>He can take any stand on any issue and even claim he did later if he
MA>did not. He can say anything, be anything, and cater to anyone,
MA>totally reversing himself without the slightest since of guilt on the
MA>drop of a poll.
MA> Bob Dole, for all his years of service in the Senate and service
MA>to the nation was an honorable man. He couldn't compete against a
MA>Clinton simply because he spoke honestly and with conviction and the
MA>American people now seem to apply the low standard they have come to
MA>accept from most politicians to all politicans. Dole also was worn out
MA>from his years of service, appeared haggared, tired, and unprepared
MA>compared to the media groomed preppy presentation that Clinton put
MA>forward.
MA> It is tragic, for ourselves and for this nation, but we seem to
MA>have passed the era when an honest man can stand before the people and
MA>express himself openly and honestly, backing his honesty with decades
MA>of serive with distinction, and expect to be able to compete against
MA>the likes of Clinton who uses every trick in the bag of deception,
MA>slight of hand, and media exposure to offer a shallow, but
MA>professionally orchastrated media campaign.
MA> I knew before New Hampshire that unless something dramatic
MA>beyond expectation took place, Dole would lose and lose badly. I said
MA>so here. Clinton, despite his total lack of qualifications to serve as
MA>president, was almost unbeatable and for Republicans to have had a
MA>chance against him a candidate would have had to be found who could
MA>compete against him before the TV cameras. Once the decison was made
MA>to cede that ground to Clinton by default, the campaign was effectively
MA>over.
MA> I just saw another popularity poll this morning indicating an
MA>unprecedented 79% of the people believe Clinton is doing a favorable
MA>job as president. With these types of responses from the American
MA>people, in the face of the present circumstances, I rest my case.
MA>The caliber of the individual now means nothing to the American people,
MA>only the caliber of the media analysts and spin doctors he employs and
MA>the strategy, no matter how far from fact it may be, they deploy.
MA>
MA> Dole did say something that touched me during his campaign. He
MA>asked a question, a question I still am asking as I watch the current
MA>parade of fools touting, believing in, and supporting Clinton. "Where's
MA>the outrage?"
Mike:
This was one of the most eloquent postings you've written. I am in total
agreement with you which I guess will draw the ire of the likes of Mr.
Hooton.
Where is the outrage? It got sold down the river in exchange for a good
economy and personal wealth and comfort. My question is what will Americans
do when it all comes down like a house of cards?
At least the whores on East Colfax acknowledge that they sell themselves
and their self respect. For that, they're more honest than the likes of
Clinton and those people in America who aren't outraged.
