subject: FIRE FREQUENCIES IN LA

Hi all.
I live in the San Gabriel Valley and have noticed that many of the fire
department frequencies on VHF have a "pattern" of being referred to with
a specific color as the frequency's "name". For example, the following
frequencies, regardless of what list/book I see them in, when noted, are
ALWAYS indicated as being:
154.3100 Brown
154.0850 Blue
154.4150 Green
156.1650 Grey
154.0700 Red (commonly seen under cities in eastern side of valley)
154.3700 Red (commonly seen under cities in western side of valley)
Because of the fact that I always see 154.415 referred to as "Green",
154.070 as "Red", etc., I'm wondering if there is some sort of standard
plan in this area for the coordination of fire frequencies that gives
each one a color? If such a plan/list exists, would it be possible
for anyone to post it here on the conference?
My only other questions would be; first, does such a plan exist for
police frequencies on VHF as well, and second, is such a scheme in
effect for UHF (460-473 MHz area) fire/police frequencies too?
I've noticed that other counties such as San Diego, Ventura, Riverside,
San Bernardino, etc., all have their own set of frequencies vs. color
names which aren't the same as those I've seen for Los Angeles county.
I know I'm becoming sort of an information hog here, but if anyone has
information on THOSE, I'd like them too. :)
Thanks in advance...
