Absolutely great. I don't want to bore everybody with a complete breakdown of
everything we did, but we found the people charming, the country (most of it)
very flat - I can understand why horsemen, such as the Magyar tribes were,
should have found it so perfect. Originally it was bordered by mountains on
all sides, but after backing the wrong side (!) in two world wars, it lost
2/3 of its surface area, so these mountains are now in various bordering
countries! That means that quite a number of traditional hungarian dishes -
such as the one I posted, come from areas which are now no longer in Hungary.
In fact we cooked it ourselves for some friends for supper the other day. It
was REAL good.
