While listening to Damian Harden Pete heard:Modem Project G'day Damian DH> I tried the one or so carriage returns but it didn't work :( I DH> also consulted another person who told me that I should try the DH> ATO command (or ATO0 command on my Roadster) after and before DH> dialling but this also did not work. Just so you know: DH> -This project is being programmed in QBASIC which has a baud DH> limitation of 19200. If you are a BASIC Programmer, the DH> following might mean something to you We're really starting to drift off topic here but when you say QBASIC do you mean the basic that comes with DOS 5 and above or do you mean something like QB45 etc, if the former then you would be advised to look around for a true compiler as the DOS supplied one is only an interpreter and has source code size limitations and doesn't AFAIK have the ability to call interrupts. DH> 'Upon opening COM2: at 19200 and initialising the modem at 9600 DH> AS #1 As Dave Hatch mentioned you would be far better off using a FOSSIL than the internal COM routines built into basic as the basic routines are limited to 19200 port speed, only com1 & com2 are supported and only at std IRQ settings, with a FOSSIL you have none of these limitations as it takes care of all this for you and you just pass info back and fwrd from your prog to FOSSIL via int 14h. Not putting you down or anything but going by the questions you've been asking i get the impression you've got quite a bit to learn regarding coms i/o so i think your tending to jump in at a very deep end. Anyway i can see Ian putting on his moderator cap ready to fire off some "get back on topic" netmail to us so why not come on over to the AUST_QB echo and discuss it further there. -=Pete=- --- OMX/Blue Wave v2.12* Origin: Gates of Hell (3:713/914.16) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 620/243 623/630 624/300 625/100 711/401 409 410 413 430 SEEN-BY: 711/510 808 809 899 932 934 712/515 713/111 317 601 605 611 615 618 SEEN-BY: 713/620 676 700 888 914 714/906 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 713/914 615 888 711/808 809 934 |
