Hey All! I figured out that it takes roughly 9 microseconds for this computer to figure out what time it is at any given moment and print that to whatever output. That is a heck of alot of unique microseconds within any given day. However that one piece of information alone will chew up most of the 32 bits allocated to the second part of the MSGID which does nothing to insure uniqueness over a long period of time - say three years for arguement sake - especially if a user is dumping text file(s) to be processed roughly the same time every day, which isn't unrealistic. I need more bytes!!! :-) Life is good, Maurice --- Msged/LNX 6.1.2* Origin: Coffin Point - Ladysmith, BC Canada (1:153/401.1) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 153/401 307 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
