Hi everyone! I am new to this echo... Whats new??? My friend and I are
thinkin about biking across the state next year. We just rode 65 miles
in the past 4 days. That probably means nothing to you but were only
youngens. Well anyways, I was wondering what kind of setup we should
use? I mean what type bikes and stuff. I would please like you
opinion... Thanks...

I have been using bar-end shifters for around 20 years and have never had 
that problem. I wonder if you have a crimped cable or something. Detach 
the cable from the front derailleur and see how readily you can move the 
lever. If it is still difficult then replace the cable, or at least take 
it out and give it a good greasing. If it is now easy to move then your 
derailleur is in serious need of something.
