I think that "perfect" zonal readings are caustic readings. You
can find math details in James Burrows "ATM Mirror Mathematics"
on his web site or in original Gaviola article. Caustic formulae exist in
the form where one of parameters is conic constant, so you can use them for
other than parabolidal mirrors.
