Thomas, from my experience Budgies feed their babies while in a prone
position.. i.e. on their backs.. cockatiels feed from an upright position..
i.e. standing up.. if the babies are not standing on their feet stretching to
receive food, they won't be fed... so chances are the budgie babies won't be
fed. Not to mention the shape of their beaks are different, making it even
more difficult for the cockatiel to feed the budgie, provided they don't
destroy them for being "different".. Although anything is certainly
possible.. I had a zebra finch hen that bless her heart, tried to feed a
cockatiel baby when the parents refused to feed it.. it died shortly after
birth.. the cockatiels knew it wasn't going to survive and so concentrated on
the ones that would. Anyway, just wanted you to be aware of this possibility
in the event you might want to try feeding from hatch. Amethyst
