Great post! Have you considered submitting this for publication? Some
gun magazine might pay well for this -- even more if you took pictures
of the work in progress and of the groups on the target.
BTW -- if you want to optimize your trajectory for .22 LR, try zeroing
at 50 feet (a standard indoor range is perfect for this). This will put
you dead on at about 75 yards, and only about 3" - 3 1/2" low at 100
yards (or about one body width of the 100-yard ram target, if you shoot
metallic silhouette.)
I have shot a fair amount of silhouette with my Kimber, and have killed
squirrels at 100 yards with that zero -- it's kind of cheating, because
the squirrel is about the same size as the ram, and you get to know
exactly what a target that size looks like through the scope at that
range. :-)
