Our method is quite different. We just lay down alternating lines of
masking tape and empty space, then use either a brush and paint, or else
use a can of spray paint. Wait about 24 hours before you take the masking
tape off - voila! Nice paint stripes.
Ohhh - you meant **stripping**, not **striping**. So sorry for the
confusion (; - >
Actually, our method is pretty different, too. We wash a lot more, just
using lotsa water and a good bit of non-perfumed dish soap, and a large
cotton ball, and we scrub. Then when all of the 'rainbow' sheen disappears,
we dry it off with plain old paper towels, then put it up on edge on a
large piece of clean, dry plate glass, and make sure it's really dry - same
method - then we put it face down on the large piece of plate glass, then
clamp the holder onto the outside. The holder will hold it firmly upside
down inside the alumizing bell jar. When it's really, really secure, then
we take a very clean piece of lintless cloth and, while still holding the
mirror upside down, we flick away any visible pieces of fairy dust, regular
dust, elf dust, dwarf dust, orc dust, hobbit dust, wizard dust, people
dust, and so on, that we can see. Then we pop it in the chamber, close the
bell jar, and away we go.
