That seems to be the consensus.  Shortly after 9/11 it seemed everyone
was in favour of increased security measures and claimed it made them
feel more comfortable.  I haven't heard anyone saying this lately.

I heard an item the other day on the news where Air Canada claimed the
power outage cost them more then a few bucks.  Always seems to be
something.
