She has also taken one of the fans and put it in the window. You can always
keep the filter on, but with it in the window it will probably take out the
heat and the smaller dust particals.
I would think if you have the air circulating, then with one fan in the
window to grab the dust flying by, that shouldn't be too bad.
With a 10" fan only about $10 it's not to expensive to try. The furnace
filters are about a buck around here and she vacums them reguarly.
