There are no political master in this country of the kind you know in your country. For example, in your country political parties choose which candidates will run for offices. In this country we use primaries to allow the public to vote on who will represent a party on the ballot. Ours is a far more democratic system than yours. Nor are we confined to only two political parties. On the local level there are all kinds of political parties. Few of them do well even locally, let alone on the state or federal level. Most of the public simply isn't interested. Better yet, we have a winner take all system here and that avoids the excruciating stupidities of systems using proportional representation. For all of its problems, the US system is infinitely better than yours if only because it is demonstrably more democratic. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
