| subject: | Netcomm problem #5 |
PE> Netcomm problem number 5 has been updated significantly... PE> 5. Getting 28800 (no EC) connects (3) to 03-9338-3794. Sysop has PE> a Hayes Optima 288 V.34 online there. I dropped my com port PE> speed down to 19200 in order to force a lower speed connect, and PE> I connected fine first go. Actually, this problem only occurred Well thats the problem (its a v.34 Optima). I have one of them (until the USR arrives) and its total junk. I too found many occurances where the Hayes would't connect unless I manually limited the speed - seems the Hayes is unable to work it out on its own, and so only works if the line is (near) perfect.
